A Quick Update


Happy Saturday everyone! We are doing well and in Montenegro right now. Tomorrow morning Mom and Dad are flying to Istanbul, while and Kira and I will be on a bus to Albania. 

Unfortunately it's been a full week and I haven't had time to work on the weekly blog post. Stay tuned for a full update from this week which will hopefully be posted in the next few days!!

    We hope you really enjoyed Kotor and Montenegro. We were there many years ago visiting Lillian's cousin who now has built a large resort on the side of a mountain on the opposite side of the bay. Take care when you are in Albania

We're back! I'm excited to start up this blog again for our family Europe trip! I'll try to keep to a weekly post (Saturdays) as before. A Quick Summary: We started off our trip in Rome. There we spent a few days seeing a bunch if the sites, including a stop in the Vatican City. Then, we took a train north to Florence and spent a few days exploring there. Some Highlights Scale I've been really impressed and shocked at the sheer scale and intricacy of the various things we've seen. The photos and descriptions can't really capture just how big and impressive things are. St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican, as well as the Duomo in Florence were both covered in intricately designed sculptures and artwork and patterns. The Albanian Alps

A Quick Summary This week Kira and I took a bus from Montenegro to Shkoder, which is in the northern part of Albania. We spent a couple nights in Shkoder before taking a minibus to Theth, a small town in the mountains! The next day, we did a long hike from Theth to Vablone, another small mountain town (more like a cluster of houses). From there, we then made our way back to Shkoder the next day via 2 minibusses and a ferry! Full map Zoomed in map, the hike was between the two green dots on the top right! Some Highlights Albanian culture: To be honest, I barely knew anything about Albania before we started planning this trip. I'm not even sure if I would have been able to point to it on a map! For some reason, I expected it to be more run-down or dirty, but I've been so impressed and surprised at how nice and modern things are here for the most part.  Also, the people here are so nice.
